Privacy Policy

Memofai helps students study from their own course materials. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We don't receive your Google password or access anything else in your Google account.
• What you upload: course materials, photos and files of questions.
• What Memofai makes for you: quizzes and your answers and scores, Ask AI conversations, and audio files.
• Basic technical logs (like error messages and request times) that our hosting providers keep so the service works reliably.

How we use it

Only to run Memofai for you: reading your materials, generating quizzes, answers and audio, saving your history, and keeping the service secure. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.

Who processes it

To do its job, Memofai sends data to these services:

• Supabase: sign-in, the database and file storage.
• Vercel and Render: hosting for the app and the audio service.
• Google Gemini and Groq: the AI that reads your materials and writes questions and answers. Memofai uses Google's free tier, under which Google may use what is sent to it to improve its products. Please don't upload documents containing sensitive personal information.
• Wikimedia Commons and Pollinations.ai: when you ask Ask AI for a picture, a short description of what you asked for is used to search Wikimedia Commons or, for AI illustrations, sent from your browser to Pollinations.ai to draw it.
• Microsoft Edge text-to-speech: turns text into audio. VoiceStudio is used instead if the app owner has connected it.

Google sign-in

If you choose “Continue with Google”, Memofai only uses your basic profile (name, email address and picture) to create and identify your account. This data is not used for advertising, not sold, and not shared except with the services listed above that are needed to run Memofai. Memofai's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Keeping it private

Your materials, quizzes, chats and audio are private to your account. Each student can only see their own data.

Deleting your data

You can delete materials and audio inside the app at any time. To delete your whole account and everything in it, email imeobongetim5@gmail.com from the address you signed up with.

Students under 13

Memofai isn't meant for children under 13. If you're under 13, please use it only with a parent or guardian.
